Structural Medicine Clinics

Seattle Location (Ballard)

Presented by the Institute of Structural Medicine and
The Seattle Center for Structural Medicine.

Come experience the customized treatment approach of Structural Integration with Donna Bajelis, PT, CHP, SMS. The clinics are for anyone interested in learning more about Structural Medicine and the ISM Structural Medicine SpecialistTM training program.

Description & Objectives

Take part in this incredible opportunity to experience Structural Medicine firsthand with its founder, Donna Bajelis. Blending her years of clinical experience with her background as physical therapist, PNF specialist, and a master teacher and structural integrator, Donna offers a unique approach to bodywork that can revolutionize your understanding of the body. Whether a current bodyworker, a Structural Medicine client, or someone who may be interested in this growing field, Donna's weekly clinics will illuminate the structural sources of chronic pain and how they can be eliminated through Structural Medicine. Much more than a "treatment" to alleviate pain, Donna Bajelis' clinics are transformative.

Each clinic will bring you a new understanding of how current habits and the mechanisms of injury embed themselves into tissue to produce conditions of pain and malfunction. As a participant in the clinic, you will be highly involved in the history taking and evaluation of the patient, as well as the problem-solving aspect of the work. Donna will improve your seeing skills through postural and movement analysis, and improve your diagnosis by teaching you how to put a client's patterns in your own body, so you can feel what patterns are embedded in their structure. Donna will work with you and the client to create a comprehensive treatment plan that can globally transform the client's posture, range of motion, and decrease pain levels. Participants in the clinic are also encouraged to take part in the session, as instructed by Donna, who will guide you in improving your technique, body mechanics, and overall effectiveness.

Previous clinics have worked with patients with scoliosis, multiple traumas (major surgeries, motor vehicle accidents etc.) and thoracic outlet syndrome. If you are looking to better understand your own body, improve your effectiveness as a practitioner or want to expand your possibilities for full and total healing, then take this rare opportunity to work with master bodyworker, Donna Bajelis.

This Series Is Intended For

Present ISM students, ISM alumni, Structural Integrators from other schools and healthcare practitioners who are seriously interested in the field of Structural Integration. It is highly recommended that participants have received Structural Integration in the past and have prior knowledge of Tom Myers' Myofascial Meridians in order to deepen their understanding of what they are observing.
