Discover the Power of a Multidisciplinary Approach

In this 4 part series with Donna Bajelis, PT, ACSMS, BCSI, and Joe Kelly, ACSMS, BCSI, GCFP, LMT, you will discover how Structural Medicine applies a multidisciplinary approach encompassing Physical Therapy and Structural Integration techniques to develop customized and highly detailed treatment plans to address the complexity of factors relating to client pain and dysfunction.

We’ve all got clients that are dealing with painful and complex issues. Maybe they’ve been to multiple medical practitioners, and even had surgeries, yet are still dealing with pain. This series will walk you through Donna and Joe’s unique approach to working with complex patients.

Introducing Myofascial Length Testing (MFLT)

Donna’s groundbreaking MFLT will be your new secret weapon. This innovative assessment, developed by Donna herself, allows you to assess myofascial meridians and their role in creating restrictions and rotations in the body’s organization.

By combining this cutting-edge tool with your client’s history, visual assessment, and goals, you’ll craft a crystal-clear treatment plan. You’ll observe the techniques and strategies implemented to untwist and lengthen areas of the body operating under compressive and shearing forces. At the end of each workshop, we’ll observe and discuss the changes in each other’s structure, function, and MFLT results. You will also learn how to help educate your clients to find better body awareness and easier movement inspired by the Feldenkrais Method.

Low Back and Sacroiliac Joint Registration

Low back pain is the most common orthopedic disorder for which clients seek treatment. Yet, the root causes are often complex and mistaken. Accumulated stress caused by many factors compresses the body’s vertebral structure, generating shearing forces that degrade the spine and create vulnerabilities. In addition, these compressive factors cause the extensor line to lose its elasticity, resulting in musculotendinous damage. In this course, we will balance and lengthen the extensor fascia, muscles of the pelvis, and legs to bring people back into their vertical line and harmony with gravity.

You will learn detailed Myofascial length testing to determine what fascial lines are most restricted. With your newfound testing and visual assessment skills, you’ll refine how to create a customized treatment approach. You will learn how to address issues such as TOS, Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow, Carpel Tunnel, Rotator Cuff tendinitis, and other injuries.  You will also learn how the arm lines impact pain issues related to the head and neck.

You will learn how to structurally reorganize the thoracic rib cage, shoulder girdle, cervical spine, and head. We’ll tackle postural organization and its relationship to common functional activities addressing issues such as rounded shoulders, forward head, and compressed ribcage. We will demonstrate how to get clients out of their habitual patterns of organization to find new ease and comfort.
